The common location in an action film is a police station and a layer or hangout spot for characters. The common actors in a action film are cowboys, superheros, police officers, and an antagonist. The make up found in an action film is usually prosthetic. They usually have scars and blood to show persuade the audience to believe they actually are hurt. In action films its usually a lot of actors moving at a fast pace so they wear makeup to make them look tired. Usual props that you will see in an action film is guns and weapons, helicopters, cop cars, dead bodies, bombs, briefcases full of money, cellphones, masks, and computers. The common setting in an action film is revenge, escape, assassination, oppression, and kidnap.
- The usual editing techniques used in an action film is cross cutting, split screen, cutaway, insert, shot reverse shot, jump cut, burn in and out, and reaction shot.
- Elements that are usually in an action film is a protagonist and antagonist that involved in a series of violence, extended fighting, physical feats, and frantic chases. They also incorporate stunts in action films.
- Example films of this genre is Ride Along 2 and Central Intelligence. Even though both of these movies share an actor, they both involve big fires and gun fights.

The props they have are swords or a prized possession, like a stone of some sort. The setting of a sci fi movie is usually two teams fighting each other to get one thing.
