Action and Sci-fi

Action and Sci-fi. Our assignment was to research two more genres and analyze. I picked these two genres because they are so different and I wanted to learn about more than the basic genres.

Action.

•  In an action film the common camera angles are usually wide shots, establishing shots, medium shots, two-shot, close up, high angle, low angle, eye level angles, aerial shots, zoom, tracking shots, tilt, pan, and crane shots. 
• The common costumes you will usually see in an action film are police uniforms, superhero costumes and sometimes cowboy outfits as well. The common location in an action film is a police station and a layer or hangout spot for characters. The common actors in a action film are cowboys, superheros, police officers, and an antagonist. The make up found in an action film is usually prosthetic. They usually have scars and blood to show persuade the audience to believe they actually are hurt. In action films its usually a lot of actors moving at a fast pace so they wear makeup to make them look tired. Usual props that you will see in an action film is guns and weapons, helicopters, cop cars, dead bodies, bombs, briefcases full of money, cellphones, masks, and computers. The common setting in an action film is revenge, escape, assassination, oppression, and kidnap.
• The usual editing techniques used in an action film is cross cutting, split screen, cutaway, insert, shot reverse shot, jump cut, burn in and out, and reaction shot.
• Elements that are usually in an action film is a protagonist and antagonist that involved in a series of violence, extended fighting, physical feats, and frantic chases. They also incorporate stunts in action films.
•  Example films of this genre is Ride Along 2 and Central Intelligence. Even though both of these movies share an actor, they both involve big fires and gun fights.
• The sound found in action films are digetic sound, non-digetic sound, sound bridge, sound motif, dialogue, score, incidental music, and ambient sound. 
• The elements that I like about this genre is that it keeps me interested and wondering what happens next.
• The elements that I don't like about this genre is that it can get really loud.

Sci-fi.

• The common camera angles used in this shot are usually wide shots, long shots, medium long shot, establishing shot, aerial shot, medium shot, close up, extreme close up, dutch angle, over the shoulder shot, tracking shot, crane shot, high angle, and low angle.
• The costumes that are usually in a sci fi film is draped clothing, mask, and sunglasses. The location that is usually in sci fi  films are in a galaxy or on a space ship. The actors are usually superheros and soldiers and they usually have a non human actor. The make-up is usually a mask of prosthetic and silicon. The props they have are swords or a prized possession, like a stone of some sort. The setting of a sci fi movie is usually two teams fighting each other to get one thing.
•  The editing in sci fi films are cross cutting, cutaway, insert, dissolve, fade in and fade out, jump cut, and reaction shot.
• The elements that are usually in sci fi films are big weapon fights, time travel. teleportation, mind control, telepathy, aliens and also stunts.
• Some sci fi films are Black Panther and Avatar. Both of these films have characters that either wear mask or face paint to become their character.
• The sound found in sci fi films are digetic sound, non-digetic sound, sound bridge, sound motif, dialogue, score, incidental music, voice overs, and ambient sound. 
• The elements that I like in sci fi movies is the anticipation about the ending of the movie.
• The elements that I don't like is how it can't get confusing with the story line if you don't pay attention.
